Yuengling Brewery: The Nation’s Oldest Brewery
Having provided extensive painting services since the mid 80's for both the Pabst and Stroh’s breweries Service Painting Corporation was a perfect fit for a plant renovation when Yuengling bought this same facility in late 1998.
Since Service Painting Corporation knew and designed the coatings systems that were already in place we were a natural when it came to designing new specifications that would provide long term warranties with value engineered coatings systems.
Services Provided:
- Metal skin on entire facility: hydro blasting with high performance acrylic coatings systems.
- Tankage: abrasive blasting utilizing an epoxy and urethane coating system.
- Removed “yeast” buildup on over 250,000 square feet of exposed structural steel and decking through a proprietary cleaning method which was then top coated with a special dryfall enamel.
- Service Painting Corporation also provided graphic artists to take the famous Yuengling “eagle” emblem and provide the layout and specialty painting for two 30'x40' logos and a single 20'x20' logo. A high performance urethane coating was utilized including clear coats for additional long term color stability.
Service Painting Corporation performed all the work noted above while the brewery was in complete operation, therefore, FDA and USDA regulations were critical as well as VOC and paint odor issues. This four month project was performed without a single production shut down!
